Learning Objectives:

·       Analyse the clinical and cost-effectiveness data supporting targeted population-based screening programs for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA).

·       Conduct a comprehensive pre-operative assessment of patients with aortic aneurysms, including patient history, meticulous physical examination and gaining an understanding of the significance of various pre- operative investigation to assess patient fitness.

·       Compare the outcomes of endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) and open repair for abdominal aortic aneurysm, based on the results of three major randomized controlled trials.

·       Compare the survival rates, hospital stay, quality of life, and cost-effectiveness of EVAR and open repair for ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms.

·       Explore the technological advancements that have expanded the endovascular treatment options for juxta renal abdominal aortic aneurysms.

·       Demonstrate proficiency in managing thoracic aortic aneurysms.

·       Understand various classifications of thoracic aortic trauma and the corresponding management strategies for each scenario.

·       Develop a foundational understanding of the TEVAR (Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair) procedure, including its principles and practical tips and tricks for effective implantation.

·       Explore different approaches for the management of aortic occlusive disease, with a focus on comprehensive strategies tailored to specific clinical situations.
